When most people in the Hamptons  are lounging at the beach on their weekends, I took a different approach to spending my Sunday morning....

Every year the Jewish Center of the Hamptons has an incredible yard sale.  Visitors come from all over to line up at 7AM for a 10AM start! So of course, me being the avid shopper that I am- I was there at 9AM SHARP!!!

Just when I thought that my morning couldn't get any better...as soon as I walked in I saw the most gorgeous dark curly haired man leaning up against the fence with a puzzled expression on his face.

Soooo of course, I head directly toward him.

"Your first time?" I asked.

Immediately he blushed ,"My first time?" He giggled.

Ha..A playful one...I thought!

"I meant the yard sale..is this your first time here?" I laughed.

"No, not my first time, just looking for a bicycle,  but  I haven't seen any  as of yet." he responded.

"A bike??... I would have thought a surf board with that dark messy hair of yours...is the bicycle for around here?" I asked.

"Yes.for my surfboard to get to the beach actually ...I just weekend out here in Montauk  I stay pretty busy!" he said.

"And what do you do? I asked.

"I'm  General Counsel at a big law  firm way out on Long Island."

"Very nice, whereabouts did you go to school?" I probed.

" I went to Tufts Undergrad and  New York Law."

"So  you're smart and good looking!...so of course my next question had to be... do you have a girlfriend?? I asked.

"Oh..no, I see where this is going!  Let me guess.... your one of those " matchmakers!"

"No, I'm not one of those matchmakers, I'm THE matchmaker." I said.

"And why would I need a matchmaker, I'm only 36." he quickly responded.

"Thirty six years old, BEYOND ADORABLE , you live in the city, work in Long Island -and are surfing out  in Montauk on the weekends and HELLO....SINGLE?? -you're going to have no choice but to work with me one day, at the rate your going!!!!" I said.

"Maybe I do need to slow  things down a little..but we'll just have to wait and see." he smiled.

Do I screen guys fast or what  girls???...good looking- went to two great schools, 36 years old, and single..all in the matter of minutes!!!!

As they always say...One person's trash, is  another ones treasure...even at a yard sale!
