Matchmaker and Mr. Fix It
Matchmaker and Mr. Fix- It
Location: Home Depot (59th & Lex) January 2009.
For those of you who have moved homes can understand how tedious and exhausting the moving process can be to, to say the least …
On my way to Home Depot (59th and Lex) for the fourth time that day- you can imagine the enthusiasm I was feeling, but that was all soon to change.
My professional matchmaking skills were going to be kicked in high gear once again.
Walking from aisle to aisle looking at the hundreds of different shades of blue paint, I suddenly lost my train of thought as I encountered a different and more enticing shade of blue.
Standing about six foot two, a dark haired gentleman peered over the paintbrushes with his crystal blue eyes. He was stunning to say the least; I just had to speak with him.
“Excuse me”, I said, “You are just so good looking, and I can’t stop staring at you.” Of course, he blushed as most men would, but continued to speak with me, (even though he wore a wedding band).
Was I disappointed? Of course, why wouldn’t I be? But that didn’t stop me. Michael was a charming thirty-year old lawyer who had much more to offer.
Being the matchmaker that I am, my relentless attitude discovered that the majority of his closest friends were single men working on Wall Street.
Bingo! This couldn’t be better. Immediately, I handed over my card, shocked him that he was picked up by a " matchmaker " and to send all those young hottie friends of his my way, then boring as it was I continued shopping.... for paint that is.
Over the years, I’ve given numerous dating tips for men and women on how to approach the opposite sex. My online dating tips have helped many discover true love.
But most importantly, I’ve learned that everybody knows someone who is single, and if you talk to everyone (single and married) wherever you go, like I do, you just never know whom you will meet --- or where you will meet them!
Whether it is in a classy upscale restaurant or a home improvement store, my dating tips focus on a keen eye and a clever approach. REMEMBER always be playful and add humor to it. TRUST me it works.
So, maybe start thinking about a little home makeover, YOU NEVER KNOW --you may just find your Mr. Fix It!
